DAKOTa is the co-creator of the independent true crime adventure podcast, Somewhere In The Pines.

Dakota spent his childhood growing up in the wilderness of southeast Alaska and Puget Sound Washington. After graduating highschool and without direction Dakota took up work commercial fishing the waters of Alaska for Pacific Salmon. He also worked for the National Park Service on trail crew helping create the natural infrastructure of backwoods trails.

Having a passion for art and music, Dakota eventually found himself working to help local bands in recording and production at a small studio start up Rock Alaska Records in Juneau Alaska with his mentor and confidant Bill Koslowski.

In 2004 Dakota moved his own band from Juneau to Portland Oregon in hopes of further success in the music industry. It was there, while mixing bands and running security at local venues he met Joshua Ash who was seeking a vocalist for Dirt Jake Replicas; a prog rock band without a front man. This was the beginning of a friendship and creative collaboration that eventually led to the creation of Somewhere in the Pines.

Dakota and Joshua’s shared interest in art, music and the outdoors; hiking, foraging and self sustaining practices gave them the tools to be advocates for the unknown victims of Israel Keyes.
